Instructions for use
Carefully follow these instructions before using.
Before You Begin...
When using microdermabrasion, it's very important to be aware of your specific skin type. Sensitive skin types should take caution and be gentle during treatment. Tougher skin types can be more aggressive with treatment.
WARNING -
Hovering in one place too long may cause irritation and result in a scab.
Place chosen disc on motor shaft and simply push on tightly to attach. To remove disc, pull off of
shaft. Place the cap over the disc. Screw 1/4 turn and seal tightly. There must be a seal in order
to create the vacuum and suction. Connect cord to unit and power supply and plug in.
Important: There are 2 disc sizes, one for the body and one for the face. Small Disc: Use the
small disc around tight spots on the nose or where your bones won't allow suction. The large
disc should only be used on the body.
STEP 2: Wash Your Skin
Remove all dirt, oil and makeup from the skin. Thoroughly wash the treatment area. Make sure your hair is pulled back off of your face.
STEP 3:Technique
For a smooth surface, the skin taut. Place your fingers on the skin and stretch it so its tight where the disc will make contact. Keep the unit moving constantly over your skin during treatment.
Important: do not hover in one spot.
Be sure the cap is flush with your skin, maintaining even contact. This will ensure proper suction. The motor sound will change when suction occurs.
STEP 4: Treatment
Use light pressure on your first few treatments. As you become skilled with the device, you can be more aggressive with the procedure. Be careful not to allow the disc to exfoliate too deeply on the skin’s surface. Move the disc in an upward and horizontal motion until you have treated all areas of the skin. If you have “problem spots,” spend more time on those areas, but be careful not to press too hard.
STEP 5: Cell Renewal
mmediately after using the PMD device and in between treatments, it is important to follow up with a good toner and moisturizer. The PMD Regeneration System skin care regimen, or a similar cell renewal serum, is essential to the skin’s healing and recovery process.
• Apply a treatment toner. This will neutralize the pH balance of the skin and prepare it for the recovery moisturizer. Wait 5 minutes.
• Apply a recovery moisturizer or cell renewal serum.
•Apply sunscreen daily since the skin will be extra sensitive to sun exposure.
•Cosmetics may be applied after the treatment.
STEP 6: Follow-Up and Maintenance
After using the PMD, it is important to thoroughly clean the device. Rinse the black filter and cap under warm water until clean. Use a damp cloth in and around the motor shaft to remove any residue left behind from the treatment. For maximum effectiveness, replace the discs every three uses. The abrasive on the discs must be fresh in order to provide the best results.
Recommended usage: Once a week.
Note: Different exfoliation intensity levels are categorized by their disc color. The disc colors available are blue, green, and red, and the corresponding exfoliation levels are light, medium, and coarse. It is recommended for all skin types to begin with the fine grit blue disc.
